What is APRI?

The Alberta Property Rights Initiative was created to raise awareness about the assault on landowner rights in rural areas and to pass legislation designed to curb the use of regulations to confiscate property without compensation.

APRI's Vision Statement:

To provide a common central organization for various concerned property groups and individuals for the following purpose:

“To promote the entrenchment in law, full protection of property rights for the benefit of all Albertans.”

APRI's Mission:
  1. To actively promote a property rights clause in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, to ensure property owners receive full, fair and timely compensation if their land is taken from them for public use.
  2. To actively promote a "Property Rights Preservation Bill" to protect property rights through provincial legislation.
  3. To bring property concerns to the attention of the public and government through regular publications.
